Covered bridges are a treasured part of this countries past. Originally the idea was to make wooden bridges last longer, but as time went by, covered bridges became works of art, things of beauty. Today we embrace these bridges as treasures, we seek them out, map out routes to see as many as possible. If you can; do what I have done, seek out these works of art, these pieces of american history that all too soon may be lost.
